Interior design - Gallery Walls

Summer is here at last and we are loving this season at Eyecandy Interior Design. Summer brings a wealth of beautiful colours, rich vibrancy, and new lavish designs, all of which are reflected in the latest trends for home interiors.

Natural Materials

Natural materials like wood, stone, cotton and linen are a big trend for fixed fittings and furnishing at this time of the year, and sustainability continues to be a popular trend throughout the interiors world with woven crafted pieces being intermittently used around the home in the form of drawers, side tables, and even grand wardrobes.

Beach vibes are also in play this summer with woven rattan and bamboo furnishings making a big appearance on the home interiors catwalk!

We are lusting after new-style natural material pendant lampshades that are made from wicker and raffia, as they bring a sense of garden summerhouses and sunrooms into modern living.

Walls, Wallpaper and Colour

If summer is the time for you to shine from an interiors perspective then the latest releases of wallpaper by Cole & Son’s design studio may be what you are looking for. The collection of Cole & Sons Fornasetti Senza Tempo wallpapers are mischievous, elegant, and even ironic in design; perfect for those looking to make a serious impact in the home.

When colour is your main focus from an interiors angle, teal is this summer’s ‘go to’ with all its glorious shades; from the calming soft hues to the deeper moody pallet, teal also works perfectly alongside a multitude of other colours.

Gallery walls are playing a big part in home interiors around the UK and overseas at the moment, from hallways and staircases to kitchens and the lounge, by adding photos, pictures and quotes to your space it will instantly be brought to life.

Minimalism

Japanese Minimalism is the new Scandi for summer 2019, with it’s paired back colours and neat contemporary design, Japanese Minimalism brings calmness and tranquillity to a room.

The simplicity of Japanese Minimalism means that an undressed dining table may be the only item in that room, or an on trend lampshade may be the focal point of a room with just two chairs facing it.

If you are looking to adapt your home, to bring in a sense of Japanese Minimalism the way to start would be to consider new closed-door storage where all things can be stored and hidden neatly away and brought out only when needed, giving the room a clean empty space in which to relax.

If pairing down your belongings isn’t for you, another form of Japanese Minimalism would be to incorporate small furnishings that are uncomplicated and practical, like long rectangular tables or simple circular mirrors which offer extended space through light and positioning.
